Homeless man in new jersey helped a woman
after she said she ran out of gas on Interstate 95

Kate McClure, 27, found herself stranded onInterstate 95
Johnny Bobbitt Jr., a homeless veteran, approached her and
told her to “get back in the car and lock the doors” while he walked a few blocks and bought her gas with his last $20,

Bobbitt is a certified paramedic originally from the Raleigh, North Carolina, area who also served in the US Marine Corps. He has been homeless for about a year after moving to Philadelphia for a job that fell through.

McClure told The Philadelphia Inquirer that she and her boyfriend
returned to Johnny’s spot along the side of the road the next day to return the money.

Over the following weeks, she kept stopping by to
chat with Johnny and give him a few dollars.
Finally she decided to set up a GoFundMe page for him
earlier this month.

A GoFundMe campaign set up to raise $10,000
had by Friday collected more than $320,000 in contributions
from more than 10,500 strangers.
